Birth is totally an intimate event. I deeply value the sacredness of a birthing space. So, while I am there to preserve each moment, I work quietly and in the least intrusive way I can.

Between 30 to 34 weeks, we get to spend time together (either in-person or via video chat - you choose!) chatting all things birth! We nail down your preferences about modesty, what happens when plans change, the lowdown on my use of flash, and our mutual expectations.
I love the conversations we have together. While it allows us time to talk about your birth vision, any past labors, and logistics of when to make "the call," I find that the consultation builds a relationship between us.
Third Trimester Consultation
Whenever you feel that baby is coming, I am here for you. 2 a.m. or Christmas Eve, I am just a phone call away. To best serve you, your family, and mine, I ask for notice that labor has begun. From there, we will have ongoing communication throughout the labor.
I will use our communications and the information we have to best decide when to come to you. Otherwise, when you want me there, I will come. No matter how early in the process.
The Call
On birth day, you get to relax knowing that I am there to get that perfect photo of you meeting your baby for the very first time. From when you and baby are working hard together through the birth and all the tender moments afterward.
Those moments are fleeting, gone in a wink. Leave me to the do the work of preserving the legacy of that day while you can simply be present.
Birth Day
You can rest, recover, and enjoy your baby while I choose, edit, and send 3-5 stand-out, shareable photographs from your birth within 12-24 hours. Most clients enjoy having beautiful, polished photos for social media announcements, sharing with family and friends, and for their own personal viewing.
Expect your full birth photo and film gallery within 2 weeks, along with a short video on how to select your 25 favorites for your custom engraved legacy box.

A non-refundable retainer secures. your due date on my calendar. Due to the unpredictability of birth, I only take very births each month. When I receive your retainer, that means that everyone else around your due date is turned away!
The remainder of your package price covers my time, talent, valuable digital image files, as well as your custom legacy box and prints. Most clients prefer to pay according to a custom payment plan with smaller, manageable chunks.
The Investment Details
I can honestly say that hiring Melissa at Mother Hands Birth Photography was the best decision we made for capturing the birth of our daughter. She was so wonderful the whole labor. She was so helpful in the labor process and of course gave us the most amazing photos and video.
